Senior Accountant

Learfield is seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to support the financial close, consolidation, and reporting of our multi-entity corporate structure. This role plays a critical part in ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting for both internal and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to drive process improvements in a fast-paced environment. Assignments will vary across corporate, consolidation, and operational accounting areas based on experience and business needs.Key ResponsibilitiesLead assigned components of the monthly financial close process, including preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statement analysis.Maintain and enhance ledger structures, subledger relationships, and Chart of Accounts alignment to ensure reporting integrity and consistency across financial systems.Ensure compliance with US GAAP and internal accounting policies by preparing, reviewing, and supporting financial disclosures for internal management, external reporting, and tax purposes.Serve as a key liaison with external auditors by preparing audit support, coordinating requests, and driving the timely resolution of audit-related inquiries.Collaborate with FP&A and business partners to validate financial results, support variance and flux analysis, and ensure consistency between financial systems, including Great Plains and Adaptive Planning.Identify and contribute to the design and implementation of process improvements, system enhancements, and reporting automation to improve accuracy, efficiency, and scalability.Participate in the evaluation and implementation of new accounting standards and apply technical accounting guidance to complex or unusual transactions.Support corporate and business unit initiatives, including reorganizations, acquisitions, and system integrations, as needed.Mentor and support team members by sharing knowledge, promoting collaboration, and reinforcing accounting best practices.Minimum Qualifications4+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a large corporate or multi-entity environment.Strong technical knowledge of US GAAP and experience applying accounting principles to complex financial structures and transactions.Demonstrated ability to manage and support monthly close cycles within a multi-entity, multi-location organization.Experience with ERP systems, preferably Great Plains, and corporate reporting tools such as Adaptive Insights or Prophix.Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with working knowledge of Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with exceptional attention to detail.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and organizational levels.Ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment with shifting priorities and competing deadlines.Big 4 public accounting experience and/or experience in a public or private company environment preferred.Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field, or an equivalent combination of specialized education and professional accounting experiencePreferred QualificationsSelf-motivated with a strong sense of ownership, accountability, and commitment to results.Demonstrated ability to identify, recommend, and drive process improvements and system enhancements.Familiarity with consolidated financial reporting within complex entity structures.Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across Finance, Tax, Legal, and FP&A teams.Learfield offers a full spectrum of benefits for eligible employees including Medical, Dental, Vision, Health Savings Account, Life Insurance and Other Insurance Plans, Flexible Paid Time Off (minimum 10+ days annually), including Parental Leave, 20 Paid Holidays, 401(k) + Match, and Short/Long Term Disability.
