Staff Accountant

Worksite Address: Seattle, WA 98108 Our food and beverage industry client is currently seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join their team! The Staff Accountant supports day-to-day accounting operations and plays a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting the month-end close, and partnering with operations and leadership. The ideal candidate is hands‑on, organized, and comfortable working in a fast‑paced, multi‑unit environment. Key Responsibilities of the Staff Accountant: Prepare and post journal entries Maintain general ledger across multiple entities Perform account reconciliations (bank, credit cards, accruals, prepaids) Assist with month‑end and year‑end close Prepare and file WA Excise and Seattle B&O tax returns Process invoices and payments using Bill.com or similar systems Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies Manage 1099 filings Perform cash reconciliations and deposit tracking Reconcile POS systems (e.g., CTUIT, Toast) to the general ledger Apply customer payments and manage AR aging Investigate and resolve variances Prepare supporting schedules for financial reporting Assist with variance analysis Support process improvements and reporting accuracy What the successful Staff Accountant will have: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 3–5 years of accounting experience (multi‑entity or restaurant experience preferred) Strong understanding of GAAP Experience with accounting systems (e.g., QuickBooks, Dynamics) Familiarity with Bill.com and POS systems is a plus Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, reconciliations) CPA preferred (not required) Strong attention to detail and accuracy Excellent organizational and time‑management skills Ability to work independently and collaboratively Problem‑solving mindset with a focus on continuous improvement Compensation Range: $36.00 to $43.00 per hour, DOE Benefits: Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Paid Time Off Our client is an equal opportunity employer and is committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.
