Lay Up Operator - 3rd shift

The company also excels in many other types of reinforced plastics including interior sandwich panels for creating structures such as aircraft galleys and bulkheads, honeycomb core and related products.The Gill Corporation is seeking a Lay Up Operator who can assemble precut material slices (Balsa, Aluminum, Nomex) into panels or liners.Reporting to the Production Supervisor, they will perform but not be limited to the following responsibilities.Responsibilities:Reads the GPS prior to start of the work order.Reviews order for any Special Instructions.Leads Layup Trainee in laying up panels and liners per GPS.Backs up presses for loading and unloading.Ensure that all materials used are within shelf-life requirements.Enters or confirms batches for traceability on all BOM components.Make sure that core inside the oven is the correct core for the work order.Help prepare and stage all left over materials to return to the warehouse.Performs Etching process with the use of respiratorMakes adjustments to Etching tacks: water levels, adding chemicals as recommended by OELeads the layup trainee in the setup, assembly, change overs of materials in WIPUses Micrometer to measure thickness to ensure it is within toleranceRefers to GPS, GSI, GWI to specification or instructionsMaintains 5S standards, and PPE Standards for table groupReports any defective materials or conditions to the Lead, Supervisor or Quality TechnicianGenerates a QN (Quality Notification) for defective productsBasic SAP functions: Clocking in/out, confirmations, checking inventoryAssists or operates, maintains and cleans the Spray Line 4Assists Wet Layup operatorInspects caul sheets for defectsAccurately uses and understands how to read a measuring tapeEffectively communicate information and respond to questions from various levels of the organizationOther duties assigned by the Lead, Supervisor or Manager.To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Required Qualifications:Must have a high school diploma, GED or equivalency1-2 years as a Layup trainee experienceMust be available to work any shift, over-time and weekends.Basic Math Skills: Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication and Division1-2 years of SAP experience preferredLeadership and mentoring skills to coach new staffAcceptable Spirometry Test results (full/ half respirator use).Must be able to lift, push and pull a minimum of 50 lbs.Must be able to work in a team environment, ie follow instructionsBend, Twist, and Stand for 8-10 hours a day in extreme heat or coldUse hands for simple and power grasping as well as push/pull and fine manipulationITAR Requirement:This position requires access to information that is subject to compliance with the International Traffic Arms Regulations (“ITAR”) and/or the Export Administration Regulations (“EAR”).
