Registered Nurse - PCU/Medsurg/Tele

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Night shift, 4x12-hour schedule (19:00 - 07:00).

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team in a progressive care unit. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality nursing care to patients with various diagnoses including cardiac, respiratory, infectious diseases, and more. This role involves working in a certified stroke center, and prioritization will be given to candidates with PCU training.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications and treatments as ordered.
• Provide care and monitoring for pre and post-operative patients.
• Manage and interpret data for patients presenting with CVA and other critical conditions.
• Utilize Epic charting system for patient documentation.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Perform necessary procedures such as blood product administration, tracheostomy care, and management of IVs and chest tubes.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience in a PCU, Medsurg, or a telemetry unit.
• Current New York State RN license is required in hand to submit.
• Certification in ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS is mandatory.
• Previous charge experience is preferred.
• Experience with Epic charting system is a hard requirement.
