Make a difference in the lives of students by providing essential social work services in a vibrant, supportive school community. This contract opportunity is ideal for a dedicated school social worker passionate about fostering students’ academic, social, and emotional growth. You’ll support approximately 40 students across two elementary schools and a preschool classroom, collaborating with educators and families to nurture positive, inclusive learning environments.

Key Qualifications:

• Approval as a School Social Worker by the Michigan Department of Education
• Experience providing social work services in school settings, especially with elementary-aged children
• Strong knowledge of social-emotional development, crisis intervention, and collaborative problem-solving
• Excellent communication and documentation skills
• Ability to build rapport with students, teachers, and families from diverse backgrounds
• Commitment to maintaining student confidentiality and adhering to ethical school social work standards
• Availability for onsite work during the contract period (8/24/2026 – 5/14/2027), 37.5 hours per week

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct and consultative social work services to address students’ academic, social, and emotional challenges
• Participate in the development and implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Conduct assessments to identify student needs and recommend supportive interventions
• Facilitate small groups and classroom presentations on social skills and conflict resolution
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to coordinate services and monitor student progress
• Maintain comprehensive case notes and documentation per school and legal requirements
• Participate in multi-disciplinary team meetings and professional development
