Are you ready to join this team and make an impact?The Construction/Design Safety position serves as a key technical safety resource for all resort projects. The position is responsible for providing prevention through design for guest and cast safety, regulatory compliance, safety assurance strategies, contractor safety, and hazard analysis input for the development, implementation, and sustainment phases.The SeniorSafety Professional will report to a Safety Manager.What You Will DoParticipate in Project Design and Construction Safety efforts from the feasibility phase through project completion in partnership with both internal clients and external vendors/contractors Safety Design:Partner with design team and consult design elements to provide applicable and acceptable risk mitigation methodologies for the project to consider throughout the design cycleInvestigate and propose innovative and practical safety solutions to meet the creative intent of the project while ensuring risk mitigation/minimization and safety/regulatory complianceArticulate, quantify, and qualify safety requirements to the Design Team using applicable standards and regulations, safety data and statistics, historical data, benchmarking, and risk analysis techniquesReview contractor submittals and shop drawings for accuracyIdentify applicable Disney, Federal, State, and local regulations and standards as applicable to each designProvide consulting services to all stakeholders on design changes, field directed changes, design gaps and scope changesSafety Construction:Participate in inspections, field reviews/audits, acceptance testingStrong working knowledge of FED and CAL OSHA regulations and construction safety practicesReview contractor safety plans, Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), and work permitsEnsure contractors meet pre-qualification safety requirementsMonitor contractor compliance with safety regulations and site requirementsFacilitate and/or participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, and pre-job briefingsFrequent field presence across all projectsRequired Qualifications & Skills5+ years of experience in General Construction, Construction Safety, Industrial Safety and health, Safety Engineering, or similarStrong understanding of construction methods, materials, and codesProven experience in project design review, including an understanding of the “Safety by Design” conceptStrong background reviewing and analyzing design drawings/packages and hazard analysesKnowledge of relevant regulatory, industry standards, and best practices as well as an ability to quickly learn internal company standards and business practicesSelf-driven and resourceful professional with the ability to solve problems outside area of expertiseAbility to resolve conflicts and diffuse difficult situationsPreferred QualificationsOSHA 30 (Construction) or higher certificationCHST, CSP, or equivalent safety certificationExperience in safety of multi trade construction activities and construction safety industry/regulatory standardsEducationBachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in General Construction, Construction Project Management, Construction Safety, Engineering, Occupational Safety, or related.Preferred EducationAdvanced degree or 10+ years of experience in General Construction, Construction Project Management, Construction Safety, Engineering, Occupational Safety, or related.#disneysafetyThe hiring range for this position in Anaheim, CA is $105,100-$140,900 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
