Rotating Equipment Machinist–Assembler About the company

Gardner Denver—part of Ingersoll Rand’s Industrial Technologies and Services segment—builds high-performance blowers and compressors for industrial, commercial, and government use. Our Sedalia, MO facility converts castings and raw materials into mission-critical equipment trusted around the world.

• Location: 305 N State Fair Blvd., Sedalia, MO 65301
• Shift: 2nd Shift, Monday–Friday, 3:30 PM–12:00 AM
• Environment: Limited supervision; dynamic assignments driven by business needs

• Grind OD features to ultra-tight tolerance (±0.0002 in)
• Balance rotating assemblies both statically and dynamically
• Assemble to customer specs/blueprints using standard and specialty tooling
• Apply torque specifications accurately; record and verify key measurements
• Operate overhead cranes, forklifts, and walk-behind lifts safely
• Read CNC code, make offsets, and perform minor edits based on machine behavior
• Maintain housekeeping standards; identify defects and unsafe conditions promptly

• 2+ years of machining experience; CNC preferred (manual machining considered)
• Confidence holding two-tenths on ground diameters
• Blueprint interpretation skills
• Ability to adjust CNC offsets and understand program logic
• Proficiency with OD micrometers, snap gauges, height gauges, etc.
• Mechanical aptitude; able to lift up to 40 lbs
• Experience using cranes and walk-behind lifts
• High school diploma or GED preferred, not required

• Equipment and mechanical troubleshooting
• Material handling know-how
• CNC setup/changeover experience
• Precision hand metrology
• Understanding of machine geometry and alignment
• Setting up machines for production runs
• Effective communication and applied shop math
• Advanced blueprint reading
