Accounting Assistant

We’re seeking a motivated Accounting Assistant for our client, a fun and family oriented printing company in Portland, ME. This is a full-time, temp-to-hire opportunity within a small, family-owned manufacturing and printing company that values reliability, collaboration, and long-term team members. What You’ll Do You’ll support day-to-day accounts payable and accounts receivable functions for multiple entities, playing a key role in keeping operations running smoothly. Accounts Receivable Prepare and send customer invoices and statements Manage credit processes and assist with collections Receive and post customer payments; prepare deposits Respond to customer billing questions by phone Open and process daily mail Accounts Payable Review and prepare vendor invoices for payment Communicate with vendor AR teams to resolve discrepancies Issue payments by phone or mail Maintain organized filing systems and office records Additional administrative and accounting tasks as needed What We’re Looking For Required Skills Ability to work independently and manage priorities Highly organized with strong attention to detail Confident problem-solver who follows tasks through Preferred Experience with QuickBooks or similar accounting software Prior office or accounting experience (2–5 years ideal) Why You’ll Like It Here Stable Monday–Friday schedule (no nights or weekends) Supportive, family-oriented work environment Broad exposure to both AP and AR Job Type: Full-time, Temp-to-Hire Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00am–5:00pm Pay Range: $24-26 per hour (based on experience) #J-18808-Ljbffr
