How You Make a Difference

The Physician is responsible for assessing and treating patients' physical health including conducting exams and coordinating outside referrals. The role includes oversight of clinical care activities provided by ARNPs, documentation, and after-hours on-call responsibilities. This position performs minor procedures and collaborates with psychiatric and interdisciplinary staff to ensure integrated care. Physicians also educate patients and families, ensure compliance with safety procedures, and tailor treatment plans to the patient's age and development. Travel may be required depending on facility needs, and work is primarily in correctional or clinical settings.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess patients' physical health through examinations and diagnostic procedures
• Provide and oversee documentation, outside referrals, consultations, and follow-ups
• Offer clinical oversight and support to ARNPs, including care provision and documentation review
• Perform minor medical procedures such as sutures, IV placement, and lumbar puncture
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary staff and provide education to patients and families

Additional Details

Candidates should be able to manage a full-spectrum primary care panel focused on chronic disease management (HTN, diabetes, COPD, CHF), infections disease, acute complains (abdominal pain, chest pain, infections, injuries), and medication management. Candidates should also be able to manage withdrawal processes and oversee MAT protocols. Our providers will often suturing minor lacerations, abscess incision & drainage, and wound care.

Qualifications & Requirements

EDUCATION

• Medical doctorate (MD) or doctor of osteopathy (DO) from an accredited university

EXPERIENCE

• Two (2) years post-residency clinical experience in an outpatient/inpatient setting
• Psychiatric experience preferred

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS

• Licensed in the state of employment
• Current Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and applicable certifications
• Board certified or eligible in internal or family medicine
