We are partnering with a growing organization in the Mechanicsburg, PA area seeking a hands-on Accounting Manager to lead day-to-day accounting and payroll operations. This role will oversee financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance while managing a small accounting team and supporting leadership with actionable financial insights.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead all accounting operations including month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close
• Prepare and analyze financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow)
• Oversee full-cycle payroll processing, ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
• Manage accounts payable and receivable, reconciliations, and general ledger activity
• Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial performance reporting
• Supervise and mentor accounting and payroll staff
• Partner cross-functionally to evaluate financial performance and identify risks/opportunities
• Support internal and external audits and ensure regulatory compliance
• Continuously improve accounting processes, systems, and workflows

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience in a small to mid-sized business environment
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, payroll operations, and financial reporting
• CPA or CPP designation preferred
• Experience in construction or project-based environments including prevailing wage payroll experience
