About the Position

Job Title: RN - MedSurg/Tele Profession: Nursing Specialty: MedSurg/Tele Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12hr Night Shift Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum 2 years Med/Tele RN experience required License: BLS required, ACLS preferred Certifications: Certification in Med Surg is a plus Must-Have: Proficiency in cardiac drips Description: The RN will work on a MedSurg/Telemetry unit. Each unit has 20-36 beds. Patient types and common diagnoses cover all inpatient MedSurg cases. Patient ratios are RN: 1:4-6, LPN: 1:4-6, and CNA: up to 1:14. A CNA will assist with vitals, blood glucose checks, baths, and more. Unit secretaries are available during designated hours. Charge nurses are present on the unit. Most lab work, including phlebotomy, is collected by nurses. There is a dedicated PICC team, but no IV team. Resource nurses and discharge nurses are available. Respiratory therapy and hospitalist services are available 24/7. Telemetry monitoring is handled through a central unit. Technology includes EMR systems and various medical equipment. Travelers will float to all Med/Tele units as needed. The unit culture is busy and team-oriented. Candidates must be proficient in cardiac drips.
