We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support core accounting operations for a hospitality organization in Charlotte, North Carolina. This Long-term Contract position offers the opportunity to contribute to month-end close activities, financial reporting, and cross-functional coordination in a fast-moving environment. The role is well suited for someone who enjoys analyzing financial activity, maintaining accurate records, and partnering with internal teams to improve accounting processes.

Responsibilities:
• Support the monthly close cycle by preparing and posting journal entries tied to cash movements, debt activity, accruals, and other general ledger transactions.
• Coordinate with internal departments to gather financial information, clarify activity affecting overhead accounts, and help ensure reporting is complete and accurate.
• Track and record intercompany transactions across related entities while maintaining proper accounting treatment within the consolidated structure.
• Reconcile assigned balance sheet accounts, investigate discrepancies, and resolve outstanding items in a timely manner.
• Produce recurring financial reports for management, highlighting meaningful fluctuations and providing clear explanations for budget-to-actual differences.
• Assist with the preparation of trial balances, audit schedules, and supporting documentation needed for month-end and year-end reviews.
• Contribute to external audit and financial reporting efforts by organizing records, responding to requests, and maintaining accurate support files.
• Handle ad hoc analysis and special accounting projects, including identifying opportunities to strengthen procedures and reporting efficiency.• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from an accredited four-year college or university.
• 1–3 years of experience in public accounting, corporate accounting, or financial reporting.
• Hands-on experience with journal entries, general ledger activity, and account reconciliations.
• Strong Excel skills, including the use of lookup functions and pivot tables, along with overall comfort using accounting technology.
• Solid analytical and problem-solving abilities with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines independently in a fast-paced, hybrid work environment.
• Understanding of corporate accounting practices; exposure to tax, sales tax, or corporate tax return processes is a plus.
