Responsibilities
- Provide perioperative nursing care in the OR, including patient assessment, monitoring, and readiness of the sterile field
- Assist with positioning, draping, instrument handling, and turnover to support the surgical team
- Maintain sterile technique and infection control standards; anticipate needs of the surgeon and anesthesia team
- Monitor intraoperative patient status, document events, and participate in safe patient transfer to the post-anesthesia or recovery area
- Ensure equipment and supplies are prepared and available; troubleshoot basic equipment issues as needed
- May assume duties as a charge nurse and participate in on-call coverage with a 30-minute response time

Requirements
- Current New York State RN license
- BLS required; ACLS preferred
- Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing
- On-call required with a 30-minute response time
- Experience: preceptorship, charge and leadership abilities preferred for experienced RNs
- Demonstrated knowledge in sterile technique and operating room instrumentation
- Ability to interpret lethal dysrhythmias and respond to intraoperative emergencies
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and verbal/written communication skills
- Able to recognize safety issues and use patient lifts to move individuals safely
