Project Accountant

We are looking for a dedicated Project Accountant to join our talented team at our headquarters in Blue Bell, Pennsylvania./ppReporting directly to the Project Accounting Manager, you will manage the accounting aspects of the business units and projects effectively and efficiently, with a helpful and friendly attitude of service to all customers. You will also work in conjunction with the Operations Director, Project Manager, Project Engineer, Project Superintendent, and Contract Administrator./ppstrongAdditional Responsibilities/strong/pulliPerforms all accounting functions relating to assigned projects (e.g., accounts payable, accounts receivable, job costs, etc.)./liliMonitors and enforces company policy and procedures about assigned projects./liliSets up jobs and contracts in Timberline, which includes entering budgets based on an approved schedule of values./liliRecords subcontractor commitments provided by the Contract Administrator and approved by the Project Manager/Design Manager, comparing amounts to appropriate line items on the schedule of values./liliReviews approved subcontractor progress payment applications and reconciles them to previous submissions./liliReconciles the schedule of values on application to subcontractor commitment./liliCompiles submitted payment requests from subcontractors and suppliers, compares them to Job Cost reports, and includes applicable amounts for general conditions and fees to produce a payment request to be submitted to the owner./liliReconciles the current request for owner payment to previous submissions./liliObtains releases of liens from all suppliers and subcontractors for the previous months payment before issuing checks for further payment./liliMaintains log-on progress payments and release of liens./liliMaintains an ongoing record of retainage being held on subcontracts/vendors./liliReviews contracts for release of retainage and notifies the Project Manager of any upcoming releases./liliMonitors special payment arrangements to ensure that time-sensitive payments are made on time./liliEnters owner change orders, changes to estimates, subcontracts, subcontractor change orders, and purchase orders./liliPerforms Job close-out duties, including reconciling commitments, archiving files, and closing the job in the system./liliProvides A/R Collection information to management./li/ulpQualifications Requirements/pulliAssociate degree required or 3-5 years equivalent experience, including 1 year minimum in construction accounting./liliAbility to effectively prioritize time and meet deadlines./liliHighly reliable with strong organizational skills to manage a large amount of documents and information./liliA sense of urgency with the ability to multitask and ability to meet multiple deadlines./liliAbility to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing./liliProficiency in working with and reading financial spreadsheet software (Microsoft Excel), Accounting software (Timberline Software), and Microsoft software./li/ulpPreferred Qualifications/pulliBachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field./li/ulpAll interviews are conducted either in person or virtually, with video required./ppIPS, a Berkshire Hathaway company, is a global leader in technical consulting, architecture, engineering, procurement, construction management, commissioning, qualification, and validation services for technically complex facilities.
