Managing Director, Corporate Banking - Consumer & Retail Sector (Chicago)

For our client, we are seeking a Managing Director Corporate Banking - Consumer & Retail Sector to join the team of a leader in the Finance & Insurance space. This role will strengthen forecasting, budgeting, and financial planning processes that guide business decisions. You will partner with executive leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to improve planning processes, financial discipline, controls, and resource allocation. The position offers the opportunity to influence enterprise performance and scalable financial operations within a regulated financial services environment.

Location: Chicago, IL - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $250,000 – $500,000 annually

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain relationships with multinational Consumer & Retail clients
• Analyze market trends to identify growth opportunities and address potential challenges
• Oversee comprehensive relationship management, providing corporate finance solutions
• Lead strategic planning and cross-selling initiatives within Corporate Banking
• Translate Citi's strategic goals into actionable plans for the Consumer & Retail portfolio
• Achieve revenue and budget goals, working alongside Global Capital Management and Risk teams
• Foster innovation and effective product cross-selling across the Banking platform
• Collaborate with Investment Banking for transaction execution and capital allocation
• Ensure client solutions meet internal risk and ethical standards
• Assess business risks with a focus on compliance and ethical judgment

Qualifications

• 15+ years of experience in Corporate Banking focusing on the Global Consumer & Retail sector
• Senior Credit Officer or equivalent preferred
• Extensive multi-country and multi-product business management experience
• Strong background in advising on capital raising and risk management strategies
• Ability to balance internal management tasks with external client engagements
• Robust understanding of compliance and regulatory issues both globally and locally
• Proven leadership capabilities in collaborating across multiple products and priorities
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a practical approach
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• FINRA Licenses 7, 24, 63 & 79
