Air Reserve Technician Officer Position

This is an Air Reserve Technician (ART) Officer position located at 943 Rescue Group with the military rank of Major, AFSC: 097E0. In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions.

Specialized experience includes applying knowledge of the overall mission, functions, operations, principles and processes of executive support OR any directly related experience which has equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position; knowledge and skills in applying analytical, evaluative, and investigative methods and techniques to issues concerning the efficiency and effectiveness of group administrative and support operations.

OR Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related. NOTE: You must submit a copy of official transcripts.

OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. NOTE: You must submit a copy of official transcripts.

Federal Time-In-Grade (TIG) Requirement for General Schedule (GS) Positions: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-09 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-11 level.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:

• Knowledge of organization, major issues, program goals, missions, functions, administrative operations of the wing and group.
• Knowledge and skill in applying analytical, evaluative, and investigative methods and techniques to issues concerning the efficiency and effectiveness of group administrative and support program operations.
• Knowledge of the laws, regulations, policies and precedents which affect group programs and related support resources.
• Knowledge of operating programs throughout the group in order to conduct studies, analyze findings, and make recommendations on substantive operating programs.
• Ability to plan and organize work, and communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Skill and ability to prepare project and staff reports and deliver briefings to high level officials both civilian and military.

Conditions of Employment:

• The incumbent must meet and maintain AFRC requirements. The incumbent's regular assignments are primarily ART duties; however, the incumbent may also be assigned some non-ART duties, generally not to exceed 30 percent of total responsibilities.
• May be required to travel by military or commercial aircraft in the performance of TDY assignments.
• May be required to work overtime, unusual or extended tour of duty.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
