Bacterial Immunoassay Development Senior Scientist

Pfizer seeks a Senior Scientist to lead bacterial immunoassay development for vaccine programs. The role involves designing, optimizing, and validating immunological assays while collaborating across clinical, regulatory, and operations teams to support preclinical and clinical studies.

Responsibilities

• Apply advanced immunology and immunoassay knowledge to support vaccine development programs and assay optimization
• Lead assay development activities including design, feasibility assessment, optimization, validation, and technology transfer
• Develop innovative approaches to improve assay performance and address scientific challenges in bacterial immunology
• Resolve technical issues related to assay performance, data interpretation, and clinical study support
• Collaborate with clinical, regulatory, quality, and laboratory partners to implement assays and deliver timely testing data

Requirements

• PhD in immunology, microbiology, or biological sciences with 0-3 years experience; or MS/MBA with 7-8 years; or BS with 9-11 years
• Advanced knowledge of immunological principles and bacterial vaccine evaluation
• Demonstrated experience developing, qualifying, and validating immunoassays for clinical testing
• Hands-on expertise with ELISA, multiplex immunoassays, or functional antibody assays
• Strong experimental design, data analysis, troubleshooting, and scientific problem-solving capabilities
• Ability to lead scientific initiatives and work effectively across multidisciplinary teams
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Compensation: $93,600–$156,000 base salary, plus 12.5% bonus target and long-term incentive eligibility
