Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Night Shift (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM) | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 36-bed PCU Cardiac/Intermediate Care unit with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4 on days and 1:5 on nights, which may include a mix of PCU and med-surg patients
• Manage and titrate cardiac and critical drips including amiodarone, cardizem, dobutamine, dopamine, heparin, nitroglycerin, and insulin
• Care for patients with complex cardiac diagnoses including CHF, NSTEMI, MI, heart block, bradycardia, VT, TAVR, CABG (post-op day 2), and Watchman procedures, as well as general PCU overflow including sepsis, respiratory failure, and post-surgical patients
• Perform and interpret telemetry rhythm strips independently; a dedicated monitor tech is also available on the unit
• Manage patients on BiPAP, high-flow oxygen, and stable trach as needed
• Recover cath lab patients following sheath removal and provide care for pacemaker patients

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license with current PCU, Stepdown, or Telemetry experience
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Must have at least one successfully completed travel assignment — first-time travelers will not be considered
• Demonstrated experience managing all titratable drips listed (amiodarone, cardizem, dobutamine, dopamine, heparin, nitroglycerin, insulin)
• Ability to independently read and interpret telemetry strips
• Must reside more than 100 miles from the facility to be eligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with TAVR and CABG post-operative care
• Comfort floating to ICU (within patient population) and med-surg floors as needed
• Familiarity with BiPAP, high-flow oxygen therapy, and stable trach management
