Engineer III

JOB SUMMARY Directs and performs an advanced level of engineering and/or project management duties related to one or more functional areas that may include: pipeline system planning and analysis, gathering system operation; gas and liquids measurement, gas analysis, and measurement station design; processing and/or storage facility operation; and/or estimating, designing, and coordinating construction projects. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES Direct and/or perform engineering and/or project management activities related to design, procurement, construction, or optimization of company assets including Transmission and/or gathering systems, measurement and regulation facilities, compressor and pump stations and dehydration plants, NGL fractionation, natural gas processing and/or hydrocarbon storage facilities. Lead construction plans and implementation; manage third‑party contract resources. Provide technical and engineering assistance on matters such as equipment/system design, pipeline sizing and evaluation, pipeline control, pipeline facility design, construction, operation, and maintenance. Develop and review policies and procedures, process safety, and perform project management activities including bid proposals, contracts, AFE preparation and cost management, Management of Change (MOC) and material/equipment specifications. Create and update schedules/timelines, prepare project progress reports and manage change orders. Identify equipment efficiencies, complete hydraulic calculations, determine valve and pipeline sizing, and perform gas flow analysis. Conduct engineering studies, analyze governmental rules, regulations, codes and standards, pipeline and/or measurement system analyses, hydrocarbon processing and/or measurement bid proposals, and construction and/or measurement contracts. Perform cost estimates, material specifications, and recommend improvements related to capacity, operating costs, and system operation. Analyze various measurement system designs and recommend improvements to station capacity and operating costs to increase accuracy and downstream reporting. Execute economic analyses for potential new projects, including operational cost estimates, equipment efficiencies, and enhancements. Identify opportunities for improvement and develop and implement new processes as requested by management. Manage manpower and equipment resources, assess, schedule, and prioritize projects on customer needs and value to the organization. Possibly oversee employees engaged in field operations, construction, and/or project management functions. EDUCATION Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or closely related field. EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS Seven or more years of experience in engineering, operations and/or project management related to natural gas and/or NGL pipelines. Experience with engineering design, criteria for pipeline systems, and knowledge of pipelines or hydrocarbon processing facilities. Success in achieving goals and developing employee/team strengths, exhibiting positive leadership. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Project, Access, Word, and related applications. Experience researching and preparing project materials and design specifications, contracts, agreements, budgets, engineering studies, and reports. Ability to identify, research, understand, evaluate, and prioritize operational problems and coordinate appropriate actions. Knowledge of material failure, structural analysis, industry standards, and governmental regulations. Ability to read and interpret governmental regulations, blueprints, contracts, manuals, specifications, surveys, charts, load studies, and other reports. Analytical skills for resolving engineering design and calculation issues and reviewing complex engineering drawings. Strong organizational, prioritization, and project management skills. Capacity‑building and negotiation skills for advising and communicating effectively with stakeholders. Proficiency in office tools and equipment required for this role. PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK CONDITIONS Primarily sedentary work requiring occasional lifting, carrying, and standing. Requires walking, standing, and routine handling of equipment.
