If you're passionate about making a difference and thrive in a collaborative setting, Bergen New Bridge Medical Center is looking for a Stationary Engineer.Responsibilities:Operates boilers and related equipment to meet need for steam. Adjusts fuel feed and volume of air in furnaces.Checks boiler safety shut down equipment; notifies supervisor immediately of any problems or malfunctions and repairs if possible.Tests boiler water condition; adds chemical treatment to maintain proper limits and prevent build-up of depositsChecks chemical supplies and materials needed in boiler room and submits requisition to the plant superintendent on a monthly basis.Disassembles and cleans boilers on an annual basis.Starts, stops, adjusts, and regulates mechanical equipment such as engines, compressors, generators, turbines pumps and steam boilers during the respective shift.Checks water levels in boilers and oil levels in fuel tanks.Observes meters, recorders, pressure and draft gauges and manipulates valves to bring readings within specified requirements.Periodically checks all mechanical rooms during the shift, recording readings in logbooks/forms as required by departmental policies and procedures.Inspects equipment while in operation and makes minor repairs when necessary.Provides repair service.Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental, and infection control standards.Customer Service: respect, flexibility, knowledge, confidence, professionalism, pleasant attitude, patience, and helpfulness. All responses should be timely, professional, caring, and respectful in accordance with Customer Service Performance expectations.Understands and adheres to the Medical Center's Code of Conduct.Familiar with the Medical Center's Mission, Vision, and Values Statements.Other Duties:Computes air combustion efficiency.Maintains, performs, repairs and makes adjustments to central chiller plant and equipment.Performs other duties as assigned to support the overall objectives of the department and organization.Position Qualifications:Current New Jersey Pressure Steam license required.Refrigeration Machine Operator License preferred.Minimum of 5 years experience as a licensed stationery and refrigeration engineer.Basic math skillsSpeaks, reads and writes English to the extent required by the position.Education:High school graduation or equivalent required.Job Setting/Physical Demands:Must work in extreme temperatures.Noisy, dusty, dirty conditions.Potential of exposure to various contaminants.Protective gear worn: face masks, goggles, work gloves.Prolonged, extensive or considerable standing/walking.Pushes, pulls or moves/lifts heavy equipment/supplies.Considerable reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching.POTENTIAL EXPOSURES (Category I, II, III)Blood IIIFormaldehyde IIBody Fluid IIIRadiation IIIEthO IISalary commensurate with experience within posted range:$43.94 per hour| Shift Differentials: $1.90 Evenings / $2.15 Nights / $1.30 Weekends / $1.25 HolidaysWe provide a comprehensive benefits package, including a competitive medical, dental, and vision plans.
