Accounting Manager

As Accounting Manager , you will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting functions, monthly and quarterly closes, inter-entity reporting, audit preparation, and financial oversight and its regional chapters. Working closely with senior leadership, external auditors, and regional stakeholders, you will ensure accuracy, transparency, and consistency across all financial reporting. Responsibilities:

- Record and classify all incoming funds and outgoing payments on a monthly basis.
- Post bank activity not yet captured in the accounting system.
- Reconcile and enter corporate credit card transactions.
- Process semi-monthly payroll entries.
- Track and record investment account activity.
- Prepare monthly management financials for the U.S. office and affiliated regional chapters.
- Reconcile donor database records with accounting system activity.
- Perform cash and investment reconciliations.
- Monitor and reconcile intercompany or international transfers.
- Produce detailed profit and loss statements by chapter for leadership review.
- Complete quarterly accrual-based financial statements with supporting analysis.
- Allocate and bill shared costs to chapters as appropriate.
- Serve as primary point of contact for external auditors throughout the audit cycle.
- Coordinate collection of documentation from multiple offices and accounting partners.
- Ensure all balance sheet accounts are reconciled and supported with appropriate documentation.
- Perform analytical reviews of income statement activity.
- Maintain organized audit workpapers and a centralized repository of documentation.
- Prepare schedules, memos, and supplemental materials requested by auditors.
- Oversee internal finance deliverables to ensure deadlines are met.
- Assist with preparation of the annual Form 990 and related filings.
- Review draft financial statements and auditor communications with leadership.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
- 5-7+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally within nonprofit or multi-entity organizations.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and nonprofit financial reporting standards.
- Direct experience managing month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Background supporting or coordinating financial statement audits.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Online; familiarity with donor management systems preferred.
- Advanced Excel capabilities, including reconciliations and financial analysis.
- Experience with payroll processing and tracking investment accounts.
- Ability to interpret financial data and present clear reporting to leadership.
Compensation: $100,000
Salary is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications.
