Occupational Therapist

The Raymore-Peculiar School District is seeking a highly qualified, dedicated, and licensed Occupational Therapist to join our Special Education Team. The Occupational Therapist supports students' ability to participate fully in educational activities by assessing and addressing physical, sensory, and developmental needs. This role focuses on helping students develop, recover, or maintain skills necessary for academic success and daily living within the school environment.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Evaluate students' functional abilities using standardized assessments, observations, and collaboration with staff and families
• Develop and implement individualized occupational therapy plans aligned with IEP goals
• Provide direct and consultative occupational therapy services to students
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and related service providers to support student success
• Adapt classroom environments, materials, and activities to improve student access and participation
• Monitor student progress and maintain accurate, compliant documentation
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to multidisciplinary team decisions
• Provide training and resources to staff and families regarding student needs and strategies
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and district regulations

Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
• Current, valid license to practice Occupational Therapy in the State of Missouri (issued by the Missouri Board of Occupational Therapy)
• OTR Required
• Knowledge of federal and state special education laws
