Payroll Principal Coordinator

Payroll Principal CoordinatorWe are looking for an exceptional teammate to perform a wide variety of payroll activities which may include updating key transactions into the payroll processing system, calculating, finalizing, and reconciling payroll, correcting errors arising during payroll processing, conducting audits and preparing reports. This Payroll Principal Coordinator will work closely with Capital One associates to answer their payroll questions and resolve any issues with a key focus on associate experience. The ideal candidate will have strong planning, organization, and communication skills, laser customer focus, and meticulous attention to detail.Summary of Responsibilities:Performs daily tasks related to payroll including but not limited to new hire information entry, processing of overpayments, terminations, retroactive payments, payroll adjustments, reconciliations, and stop payments.Complete a gross pay to net pay payroll calculation outside of the payroll system and explain to associates with questions about their pay.Formats files for interface into the Payroll System.Performs reconciliations of payroll, benefit and deduction transactionsReviews payroll system output for errors and makes necessary corrections in the system.Assists other Capital One HR Partners as required, to resolve errors and maintain or update accurate information in the payroll system.Assists the HR Help Desk representatives in handling and following up on inquiries related to payrollProvides additional information and guidance to associates with questions concerning their payHandles telephone calls and inquiries requiring detailed knowledge about the end to end payroll process at Capital One.Performs a variety of regularly scheduled and ad-hoc audits of the payroll data to maintain compliance with established standards.Assists in year-end reporting and preparation.Regular attendance is required to be successful in this role and overtime may be required as business needs dictate.Basic QualificationsHigh School Diploma, GED or equivalent certificationAt least 2 years of Payroll experiencePreferred QualificationsBachelor's Degree or relevant military experienceProfessional certification such as FPC or CPPExperience with Workday HR SystemExperience with case management systemsExperience with ADP Global ViewUnderstanding of the gross to net calculation inclusive of pre/post tax deductions and taxable benefitsStrong understanding of end-to-end payroll and payroll tax laws and regulations.Multi-Province payroll experience.Familiarity with pay and benefit programsStrong verbal and written communication skills.At this time, Capital One will not sponsor a new applicant for employment authorization for this position.The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting.
