Education Requirements

High school diploma or GED required. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and manufacturing documentation. Working knowledge of G-code and M-code preferred. CNC machining training or certification is a plus.

Experience Requirements

3+ years of CNC machining and machine setup experience preferred. Experience operating CNC mills in a custom shop or machine shop environment. Proven ability to perform machine setup, adjustments, and troubleshooting. Experience inspecting parts and maintaining dimensional accuracy. Familiarity with production schedules, work orders, and manufacturing processes.

Preferred Qualifications

Strong CNC milling experience. Experience in custom fabrication or low-volume/high-mix manufacturing environments. Ability to adjust tool and machine offsets to maintain quality standards. Strong attention to detail and commitment to precision manufacturing. Effective communication and teamwork skills. Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced production environment. Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.

Physical Capabilities

Ability to stand and move throughout the shift in a manufacturing environment. Capable of loading and unloading materials, parts, and tooling safely. Manual dexterity to operate machinery, measuring tools, and inspection equipment. Ability to work extended hours or overtime when available. Comfortable working around machinery while following all safety protocols and PPE requirements.

Job Duties

Set up and operate CNC milling machines using approved programs, work instructions, and production documentation. Read and interpret blueprints, production orders, and technical drawings to manufacture precision parts. Load and unload materials, parts, and tooling while maintaining safe operating procedures. Identify, gather, and prepare tooling and equipment for production runs. Adjust machine and tooling offsets to ensure parts meet specifications and quality standards. Monitor tooling for wear, damage, and performance issues; troubleshoot and make corrections as needed. Perform in-process inspections and verify finished parts meet dimensional and quality requirements. Complete secondary machining and finishing operations during machine cycle times. Accurately document production activities, labor hours, and material usage. Perform routine machine care and basic preventive maintenance. Support department goals for quality, productivity, delivery, and cost control. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while adhering to company policies and procedures.
