Financial Management Specialist

The Office of Support Operations (OSO) Business Management and Continuity Branch is looking for a dynamic professional to enhance its financial management program. The branch ensures the most efficient and effective business practices are followed throughout the organization and serves as a conduit for OSO offices to plan, manage, and execute mission requirements. Time-in-grade for this announcement is one year at the GS/SK-13 level. Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. All qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement. MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENT SK-14: Applicant must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS/SK-13 level. Specialized experience includes: Analyzing financial management operations, programs, and internal controls relating to budget formulation and execution; Providing financial/budget guidance and assistance to stakeholders; Compiling financial data from a variety of sources to solve financial issues; Managing projects and identifying challenges related to financial management. ACCOMPLISHMENT RECORD COMPETENCIES Competency 1: Financial Management - Implements and/or advises on all financial aspects of the organization and the agency overall. Competency 2: Financial Data Analysis and Reporting - Conducts studies and analysis of financial data; reports out on study findings. Competency 3: Internal Controls and Compliance - Implements and/or advises on internal controls and compliance in accordance with advancements in the field and/or federal regulation and guidance; Conducts routine internal control reviews.
