We are seeking a senior Health IT Business Analyst / Integration Analyst - Remote to support end-to-end interoperability and interface delivery in a live healthcare environment. This role requires hands-on Epic Bridges interface development and production support, expert-level InterSystems Ensemble (HL7 engine) experience, and the ability to independently troubleshoot interface failures in a 24x7 setting. The ideal candidate can translate clinical/business requirements into HL7 mappings and partner with technical and non-technical stakeholders to deliver stable, compliant (HIPAA) integrations with minimal ramp-up time.You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week.Primary Responsibilities: Develop, enhance, and support HL7 v2.x interfaces using InterSystems Ensemble/IRIS as the primary integration engineDesign, build, and support Epic Bridges interfaces and related interoperability workflows, including vendor interfaces connected to EpicPerform message analysis, mapping, and troubleshooting for common HL7 message types (ADT, ORM, ORU, SIU, DFT) and resolve interface failures independentlyTranslate clinical/business requirements into HL7 mappings and integration specifications; create and maintain interface specs, mapping documents, and support guidesPerform Epic-side build/configuration changes required to enable or modify interfacesSupport Epic upgrade cycles, including Nova Notes review, regression testing, and end-to-end validationMonitor interface queues and transaction logs for errors/latency; coordinate remediation and communicate status and impact to non-technical stakeholdersEnsure data exchange complies with HIPAA and organizational security standards; support secure connectivity patterns as requiredYou'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience)Epic Bridges certification 5+ years hands-on Epic Bridges interface development and production support in a healthcare environment (certification required; hands-on build/support-not certification only)5+ years hands-on HL7 v2.x development and production support using InterSystems Ensemble/IRIS in a healthcare environmentExpert-level InterSystems Ensemble experience used as an HL7 engine (not junior/in-training/shadowing)Proven experience analyzing, mapping, and troubleshooting HL7 message types including ADT, ORM, ORU, and SIU (or equivalent)Ability to independently troubleshoot and resolve Ensemble interface failures without direct supervisionExperience performing Epic-side build changes to enable or modify interfacesExperience supporting vendor interfaces connected to Epic and supporting Epic upgrade cycles (Nova Notes review and regression testing)Experience supporting live hospital or large multi-facility health system integrations in a live Epic environmentProven extensive knowledge of how Epic Bridges and Ensemble interact during message flow and error scenariosProven solid verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain issues clearly to non-technical stakeholdersExperience working in HIPAA-regulated healthcare IT environmentsExperience supporting 24x7 production and on-call environmentsPreferred Qualifications: Epic Data Courier certificationEpic Care Everywhere experienceFHIR and/or API-based integration experienceSecure transport and file transfer (VPN/TLS, SFTP) configuration and support experienceExperience with HIEs, external registries, and cloud integration patternsAdditional scripting/programming experience (e.g., Python, Java, .NET, JavaScript)*All employees working remotely will be required to adhere to UnitedHealth Group's Telecommuter PolicyPay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
