Director Revenue Management

About the Role The Director of Revenue Management is responsible for maximizing revenue, profit, and market share associated with rooms and function spaces for assigned hotels. This role requires leadership in education and implementation of revenue management processes including forecasting, opportunity analysis, inventory management, and the development of pricing strategies. Key Responsibilities Maximize revenue, profit and market share for rooms and function spaces. Partner with the GM and sales leaders to set a strategic mix of pricing and business strategies based on market conditions. Lead and motivate the revenue team to achieve sell‑out efficiency and annual budget alignment. Provide training for Front Office and Reservation associates. Conduct continuous market analysis: competitive set, price positioning, seasonality and mix. Use yield management tools to develop selling strategies including rate, arrival patterns, length of stay and discount availability. Manage property participation and production across Internet sites and distribution channels. Build relationships with OTA market managers and ensure best representation on third‑party web sites. Prepare monthly revenue forecasts accurate within 5%. Analyse online reputation management tools and online marketing analytics. Perform special projects and other assigned responsibilities; participate in task forces and committees as requested. Qualifications Four‑year degree preferred. 3–5 years of revenue management experience; multi‑property experience preferred. Excellent knowledge of transient, group, and catering customer segments. Strong personal management skills – time management, meeting deadlines, effective communication, and presentation skills. Comprehensive understanding of total hotel revenue management concepts, processes and systems. Knowledge of brand strategies and cultures. Knowledge of advanced revenue management techniques. Confidentiality and ethical handling of sensitive situations. Negotiation, influencing and interpersonal skills. Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple concurrent tasks. Excellent written and verbal communication skills for reports, training, and documentation. Strong mathematical skills including budgeting, profit/loss concepts, percentages, and variances.
