Job Title: OR RNFA Profession: RN Specialty: Robotics Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 3x12 Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Two (2) years of OR experience preferred License: NY License as a Registered Professional Nurse Certifications: CNOR Certification, BLS Certification (American Heart Association ONLY), ACLS preferred (American Heart Association ONLY) Must-Have: - Davinci robotics experience - Proficient in perioperative nursing practice with preferred scrubbing and circulating experience Description: The RN First Assistant (RNFA) is a highly trained RN. The RNFA must have both a CNOR certification and have completed an RNFA program. The RNFA collaborates with the surgeon and the healthcare team to perform safe operations with optimal outcomes for patients. The RNFA practices perioperative nursing and must acquire the necessary knowledge, skills, and judgment specific to clinical practice in the operating room and in the RNFA role. The RNFA works in collaboration with and under the direction of the surgeon during the operative phase. When not assigned to the RNFA role, the RN will perform duties of the OR staff RN. Robotic surgery experience is preferred, specifically in urology, gynecology, colorectal, surgical oncology, thoracic, and general surgery. Evening call and rotating holiday requirements are expected, but weekends are not required.
