Schedule: Night shift, 36 hours per week, 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio (varies by acuity), 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule (flexible)

Highlights:

• Progressive cardiac telemetry unit with 44 beds and a diverse patient population including post-surgical cardiac and thoracic patients
• Advanced cardiovascular procedures including post-CABG, TAVR, mitral clip, watchman procedures, and cardiac catheterization recovery
• Comprehensive skill set including cardiac drip titration, sheath removal, chest tube management, and dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Epic charting system with 24 hours of unit orientation and full interdisciplinary support team
• 13-26 week contract assignments available with structured time-off policy
• Opportunity to work with cutting-edge cardiac interventions and post-operative care

Requirements:

• Current RN license (North Carolina or Compact state)
• Minimum 2 years of cardiac floor experience required
• Travel nursing experience required unless candidate has 24+ months of cardiac experience
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Must successfully pass EKG testing prior to contract start date
• Proficiency in cardiac telemetry, PCU/stepdown care, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Experience with sheath removal, cardiac drip management and titration, chest tubes, and non-invasive airway management
• Ability to float within facility at unit discretion
• Must be available for mandatory interview prior to offer
• Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions considered)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Arterial line management experience
• Wound care and wound vac experience
• Previous charge nurse experience
• Epic charting system experience

Patient Population & Diagnoses:

• Adult and geriatric patients with atrial fibrillation, congestive heart failure, acute coronary syndrome, coronary artery disease
• Valvular disorders including aortic and mitral stenosis/regurgitation, endocarditis, cardiomyopathy
• Vascular conditions including peripheral vascular disease, peripheral arterial disease, carotid stenosis, and venous stasis
• Post-procedural care for cardiac catheterizations, cardioversions, electrophysiology procedures, and pacemaker placements

Special Procedures & Equipment:

• Post-operative care for CABG, valve replacements (AVR, MVR), TAVR, mitral clip, LAAO procedures, carotid endarterectomy, and vascular surgeries
• Equipment experience with femoral sheaths, TR bands, fem-stop devices, chest tubes, epicardial pacing wires, Doppler, bladder scanners, and EKG machines
• Medication dispensing via Pyxis system

Additional Information:

• Contract staff may be assigned to Storm Team/Hurricane Team and required to report during catastrophic events or disasters
• Unit consolidation and reassignment may occur mid-contract based on facility needs
• No requested time off allowed after contract signing; all time off must be pre-approved
• Pre-start online modules required (8-10 hours for acute care, non-billable)
• Navy scrubs required
• Local candidates accepted (rate differential applies for those within 50 miles)
