Patient Care Tech - ICU, Days

Overview Piedmont Henry Hospital – Medical‑Surgical ICU. We are a 40‑bed, high‑acuity Intensive Care Unit staffed with Critical Care Intensivists/APPs 24/7. The team also includes Registered Nurses, Respiratory Therapists, and Patient Care Technicians. Typical nurse‑to‑patient ratio is 1:2 to 1:3. Unit Features: Sepsis and multi‑system organ failure management Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT) Targeted Temperature Management (TTM) for post‑cardiac arrest Advanced Invasive & Non‑Invasive Hemodynamic Monitoring: arterial lines, Flotrac/EV 1000, central venous catheters EKOS Ultrasound Accelerated Thrombolysis Intra‑aortic Balloon Pump (IABP) Impella Titration of vasopressors Titration of continuous paralytics Use of BIS/TOF monitor Management of pacemakers Complex respiratory failure requiring advanced ventilatory support Post‑Percutaneous Coronary Intervention care Acute stroke care with alteplase Management of shock (cardiac, septic, hypovolemic) Neurosurgical patients, including care of external ventricular devices ARDS patients requiring manual prone therapy Responsibilities The Patient Care Technician, under the supervision of licensed clinical staff, provides care to patients from birth through the lifecycle, demonstrating competency with treatments, procedures, and equipment appropriate to the clinical setting and hospital policy. Qualifications Education H.S.
