Job Summary The University of Michigan School of Medicine, Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences is seeking outstanding candidates for a tenure-track faculty position focused 80% or more on research. Successful candidates will be expected to establish an independent research program in Visual Sciences with a primary appointment in the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences and a joint appointment in an appropriate basic science department. Applicants focused on all areas of vision research will be evaluated with particular consideration given to those studying regeneration and restoration of vision, inflammation, modeling and mechanisms of eye disease, and cell and molecular biology of vision. Candidates applying for the rank of assistant or associate professor are particularly encouraged to apply. The position is for the tenure track and is full-time with an expected hiring date in 2026. Academic rank and salary are commensurate with experience and academic credentials.
