NICU Coverage | 12-Hour Shifts | Day & Night Rotation

365 Healthcare is seeking an experienced Neonatal Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for a locum opportunity in Pontiac, Michigan. This assignment provides inpatient NICU coverage within a Level III trauma-designated hospital, supporting neonatal patients in a collaborative, high-acuity care environment.

Schedule Model
• 12-hour shifts: 8:00 AM - 8:00 PM or 8:00 PM - 8:00 AM
• Day and night rotation required
• Weekend coverage required
• No call

Coverage Needed
• Start ASAP
• Ongoing coverage
• Full-time availability preferred

Practice Overview
• Inpatient NICU setting
• Average daily census: ~12 patients
• Neonatal population (birth to 90 days)
• Level III trauma-designated hospital
• EMR: Epic

Clinical Scope
• Comprehensive neonatal care in NICU setting
• Stabilization and management of high-risk newborns
• Collaboration with neonatology team

Procedures
• Neonatal resuscitation (NRP)
• Endotracheal intubation
• Umbilical line placement
• Ventilatory support
• Attendance at high-risk deliveries and newborn stabilization

Clinical Responsibilities
• Perform neonatal assessments and daily management
• Provide care for critically ill and premature infants
• Manage respiratory support and interventions
• Respond to deliveries requiring neonatal support
• Collaborate with neonatologists and NICU care team

Practice Environment
• Autonomous practice during overnight hours
• Neonatologist onsite during daytime hours
• Supportive NICU team and structured workflow
• High-acuity neonatal care setting

Qualifications
• Board Certified NP or PA (national certification required)
• Active Michigan license
• BLS and NRP certifications
• Neonatal experience required (no new grads)
• Clean malpractice and background history
• NPDB Self-Query report required
