Investment Analyst, Fixed Income

The Investment Analyst, Fixed Income is accountable for providing timely, actionable, and accurate detailed investment analysis and Buy/Hold/Sell recommendations, within the assigned coverage universe, to the various investment teams to assist them to build focused, high-performing, and well-structured portfolios. The Investment Analyst is responsible for determining and compiling sources of information to conduct their own independent analysis as well as to support senior investment staff. Functions must be performed in the context of the unique client-defined investment strategy, and the work contributes to the strategy’s successful performance and the Company’s ability to raise assets. The investment analysis performed includes fundamental analysis of individual companies and interpreting market data, trends, and economic forecasts. Focus for the Investment Analyst will include various Industrials sectors within the corporate credit universe. Position Responsibilities Analyze individual companies, interpret market and industry trends, and examine specified market sector activity to provide information and analysis required in the investment decision-making process. Expected to cover an industry sector, which may include, amongst others, certain subsectors within the Industrials sector. Supports more than one investment strategy team. Meet with company management and sell-side analysts to determine the short and long-term outlook of a company. Provide verbal and written reviews of company meetings to the other analysts and portfolio managers. Develop and cultivate relationships with company management and the sell-side to broaden knowledge of assigned companies and industries. Complete fundamental analysis on specific companies and create/update investment models with specific issuer information, financial statement numbers, and market trend data. Make recommendations and articulate buy, sell and hold recommendations with senior investment staff. Complete research, including conducting credit analysis and/or analysis of classes of securities, market trends, yield and duration relationships, and pricing trends between different fixed-income sectors. Construct financial models that incorporate investment guidelines and parameters to accurately review relevant security selections. Develop and maintain investment thesis and assemble data points to make specific security recommendations to portfolio management team(s). Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required; May hold advanced degree and/or CFA designation. Typically has 2+ years of experience in asset management, i.e. operations, product, with 0-3+ years of dedicated investment analysis experience. Superior organizational and analytic skills to complete detailed fundamental analysis. Ability to construct investment models to identify and track value added securities. Strong team player. Strong written and verbal communication skills to deliver reviews and recommendations. Ability to articulate highly technical information with conviction. Sense of judgment and self-discipline in order to evaluate multiple opportunities and make appropriate investment decisions. Strong understanding of business and economics in order to research target companies and determine potentially profitable investments. Ability to work well with multiple levels of internal and external contacts; strong communications skills to effectively convey recommendations & rationale. Familiarity and experience with AI-tools is preferred but not required. Challenges Manage a large amount of information on numerous companies in various industries. Ability to conduct research globally in different geographical areas and multiple time zones. Competing priorities and demanding time pressures plus the need to pay strict attention to detail. Salary & Location Referenced Salary Location Boston, Massachusetts Working Arrangement Hybrid Salary range is expected to be between $78,000.00 USD - $140,500.00 USD Employees also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn incentive compensation tied to business and individual performance. The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training.
