A mid-sized hospital in New York City seeks a licensed pharmacist to support their night shift operations on a 13-week contract basis. This role requires an immediate start and offers the opportunity to contribute significantly to patient care through expert medication management and collaboration with healthcare teams.
Responsibilities:
- Verify medication orders accurately and efficiently
- Supervise pharmacy technicians ensuring compliance and safety
- Apply pharmacokinetic principles to optimize therapy
- Consult with physicians and nurses regarding patient medication regimens
- Utilize electronic systems such as EPIC and Pyxis to support pharmacy operations
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid New York State pharmacist license
- Hospital pharmacy experience preferred
- Ability to work night shifts consistently
- Familiarity with EPIC electronic medical records system is advantageous
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team
