Are you seeking a new role and a company to call home? ** If so, please submit your resume today for immediate consideration! - Hayley Schedule: M-F 8am to 5pm Location: Rancho Cucamonga, CA 91730 Contract to hire w/ 3 month conversion Pay: $70k-$90k Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our finance team. This vital role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the organization’s financial health through accurate accounting practices, compliance adherence, and insightful financial analysis. As a key player in our accounting department, you will support various financial functions, including month/year close and other financial matters. Duties Assist in the month-end and year-end closing processes by ensuring all transactions are recorded and reconciled accurately, contributing to timely financial reporting. Responsible for posting general ledger entries, ensuring timely and accurate recording of financial transactions. Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations, verifying the accuracy and completeness of accounts, and investigating and resolving discrepancies. Ensure the company remains fully compliant with sales and use tax (CA, WA, NV, CO, OR, TX, AZ, etc), payroll tax, union payroll requirements, benefits-related reconciliations, workers’ compensation classifications, business entity compliance, and licensing obligations across multiple states and municipalities. Assist in the preparation and publication of financial statements. Support year-end audit preparation by compiling and organizing necessary schedules, work papers, and reports for the external auditors. Assist in special projects and process improvement initiatives as assigned (process documentation, etc.). Assist in other areas of accounting when needed (A/R, A/P, Billing, etc.) Perform additional accounting duties as assigned (Fixed Assets, WIP, Inventory, etc). Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance 1–3 years relevant accounting experience Strong understanding of GAAP Proficiency with Sage or similar ERP systems Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, outlook, etc) Excellent attention to detail, analytical thinking, and communication skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Strong organizational and time management skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting construction operations in multiple states (CA, NV, WA, OR, CO, TX, AZ, etc.) g services or multi‐state compliance platforms.
