Job Opportunity – Level III/IV NICU Registered Nurse – Texas

Start Date: November 2, 2026

Location: Texas

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 13-week assignment (longer contracts available), self-scheduling with flexibility. Six weekend shifts per six-week period with variable scheduling. Nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:2-4. Floating to Pediatrics/PICU/Pediatric ED as needed. Holiday commitment required (3 of 5 major holidays).

Highlights

• Work in a specialized 43-bed Level IV NICU within a 181-bed Children's Hospital and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center
• Daily census of approximately 35 patients with diverse case mix including prematurity, respiratory distress, surgical subspecialties (non-cardiac), HIE, and neonatal abstinence syndrome
• Epic charting system with comprehensive orientation provided (12 hours)
• Self-scheduling model with weekend flexibility across six-week blocks
• Free parking and interdisciplinary support including interpretation services
• Opportunities for contract extensions beyond 13 weeks for interested candidates

Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse license (Compact license required at time of submission)
• Minimum 2 years of NICU experience required
• Level III NICU experience strongly preferred (Level IV unit)
• Current BLS and NRP certifications required
• Epic charting experience required
• Experience with patient ratios of 1:2-4
• Proficiency in advanced NICU skills including ventilator management, high-frequency ventilation, arterial line management, central line care, administration of blood products, nitric oxide therapy, and therapeutic hypothermia
• Two professional references covering one year within the last three years
• Must be located outside 50-mile local radius or willing to accept adjusted compensation
