The University of Toledo Physicians (UTP) is seeking Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants to join our expanding General Cardiology  service line. This position offers a unique opportunity to practice comprehensive care while gaining exposure within a collaborative, academic medical environment that values teamwork, education, and tradition.

As a member of the Division of Cardiology, you will provide high-quality inpatient care to patients with a wide spectrum of cardiovascular conditions, including arrhythmias and cardiac device management. You will work closely with a collegial team of physicians, advanced practice providers, and administrative staff contributing to both clinical excellence and medical education.

Position Highlights:

• Provide comprehensive care for general cardiology patients.
• Conduct inpatient consultations, daily rounding, and ongoing patient management.
• Lead outpatient clinic visits including new evaluations, follow-ups, and device checks.
• Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, residents, and fellows in an academic environment.
• Participate in case discussions, patient education, and multidisciplinary coordination.
• Training available for APPs seeking to grow their electrophysiology skillset.

Required Qualifications:

Education

• Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program
• Master’s degree in the appropriate field

Licensure & Certification

• State of Ohio licensure as a Nurse Practitioner/Advanced Practice Registered Nurse or Physician Assistant
• National certification as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
• Certificate of Authority (COA) from the Ohio Board of Nursing or Ohio State Medical Board
• BLS certification
• Eligible to obtain and maintain Certificate to Prescribe and DEA registration

Experience

• Minimum of one year of experience in a General Cardiology setting

Working Conditions:

• Must be able to work flexible hours, shifts, holidays and weekends.
• Tolerate busy environment that requires constant interaction with patients, employees, students, 
• residents, and physicians. 
• Requires prolonged walking and standing. Occasional lifting of patients sometimes over 200 pounds.
• Occasional carrying of items weighing up to 30 pounds required. 
• Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range and manual dexterity.
• Requires the ability to operate various types of office equipment, including but not limited to: Personal computer, fax machines, copiers, telephones
• Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids, toxic substances, medicinal preparations, and other conditions common to a clinic environment on a daily basis
