Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

This position is for a Registered Nurse (RN) working the night shift, with a schedule of 1800 to 0630 hours, providing either 36 or 48 hours of service per week. Experience in the Emergency Room (ER) and Intensive Care Unit (ICU) is preferred as some floating between departments may be required. Familiarity with the EPIC electronic health record system is essential.

Education and Qualifications

• At least one year of Registered Nurse experience within the last 24 months, including acute critical care experience within the last 12 months, or
• Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) and Emergency Department (ED) Technician with a minimum of two years of experience and in good standing.
• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.

Licenses and Certifications

• Current license as a Registered Nurse in the State of California.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications.
• Mobile Intensive Care Nurse (MICN) certification desired to be completed within one year of hire.
• MicN, Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC), and Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) certifications are encouraged and recommended.

Qualifications

• Basic computer skills are required.

Physical Requirements

This job requires frequent bending, squatting, kneeling, climbing, reaching, sitting, walking, and standing. Employees must have the ability to talk, hear, and perform repetitive hand motions. Vision requirements include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. Employees will occasionally need to lift, transfer, or push patients in various positions and must demonstrate the ability to pull a lift of 50 pounds from the floor.

Potential Exposure

Employees may face potential exposure to blood and body fluids while performing various tasks. Protective measures should be utilized during tasks associated with Category 1 exposure risk.
