Job Title: Route Settlement Clerk / Cash Reconciliation Specialist

Location: Dallas, TX 75240
Pay Rate: $17.00/hour
Schedule: Monday - Friday
Shift Options: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM or 10:00 AM - 6:30 PM

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Route Settlement Clerk to support daily route accounting, cash reconciliation, driver settlements, and administrative operations within a fast-paced distribution environment. This role is responsible for ensuring driver paperwork accuracy, maintaining cash controls, resolving settlement discrepancies, and supporting route accounting functions. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, excellent attention to detail, and experience working in an office or cash-handling environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Research and resolve driver overages and shortages involving cash, products, and delivery loads
• Review and verify end-of-day driver paperwork
• Run daily route status reports to ensure all delivery routes are properly settled
• Communicate settlement discrepancies and issues to the Route Accounting Department
• Monitor and process Check-In/Check-Out (COCI) messages
• Verify proof of delivery documentation, including DSD documentation and store stamps
• Perform cashiering duties and ensure deposits are Fed-Ready
• Maintain security and accountability of route cash
• Validate proper use of cash drop procedures
• Receive and verify full-service bag counts
• Count full-service cash and finalize handheld transactions
• Prepare and organize driver paperwork for imaging and record retention
• Maintain driver compliance logs, including DOT and DVR documentation
• Maintain cash reconciliation records and driver deposit logs
• Review settlement exception reports and resolve discrepancies
• Prepare deposits for armored car pickup
• Troubleshoot handheld device issues affecting route settlements
• Partner with warehouse inventory personnel to resolve inventory and accounting reconciliation issues
• Conduct driver audits in accordance with internal control requirements
• Research mailed payments, print supporting documentation, and code transactions in Payment Manager
• Maintain and track missing document logs
• Follow all safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Some college coursework preferred
• 2-5 years of experience in an automated office environment required
• Route accounting system experience preferred
• Cash room or cash-handling experience preferred
• Basic computer and database application skills
• Strong data entry accuracy and attention to detail
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks

Physical Requirements

• Sitting: Approximately 80% of the workday
• Frequent bending, walking, and kneeling
• Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.

Required attire includes:

• Non-logo t-shirt in red, black, or gray
• Non-logo baseball cap (if applicable)
• ANSI-compliant safety footwear with:
• • Protective toe (Class 75)
  • Puncture-resistant sole (Kevlar or equivalent)
  • Slip-resistant outsole
  • Minimum 6-inch ankle protection

Employees may be subject to temperature screening prior to entering the facility when applicable.
