Data Analyst | Advanced Excel & Financial Reporting


Express Employment Professionals is recruiting a Data Analyst for a well-established, locally owned organization with multiple operating locations throughout the region.


This opportunity is ideal for a detail-oriented and analytical professional who enjoys working with large datasets, financial data, Excel reporting, data reconciliation, and business analytics . The Data Analyst will be responsible for helping maintain the accuracy, integrity, and consistency of financial and operational information while creating meaningful reports that support business decisions.


The ideal candidate will have advanced Microsoft Excel skills , strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, and experience working with data exports, financial reconciliation, reporting, and business systems .

Data Analyst Responsibilities

• Extract, import, organize, and manipulate large volumes of financial and operational data .
• Build, maintain, and update reports using advanced Microsoft Excel .
• Use PivotTables, XLOOKUP, VLOOKUP, formulas, filters, and data validation to analyze information.
• Reconcile financial data against bank statements and internal financial reports .
• Identify discrepancies, research variances, and correct data inconsistencies.
• Analyze business and financial trends and provide meaningful reports to management.
• Perform data imports and exports across multiple business systems.
• Work with large data exports and "data dumps" to organize information for analysis and reporting.
• Monitor information for data accuracy and integrity .
• Support reporting requirements across multiple business locations.
• Collaborate with accounting, finance, operations, and leadership teams .
• Help improve existing reporting processes and identify opportunities for greater efficiency.
• Troubleshoot reporting and data issues within internal business systems.
• Assist with technology-related reporting and system functions as needed.

Data Analyst Qualifications

• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required , including:
  • PivotTables
  • XLOOKUP and VLOOKUP
  • Advanced formulas and functions
  • Data validation
  • Filtering and sorting
  • Large dataset management
• Experience manipulating large datasets and system-generated data exports .
• Strong analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with financial data reconciliation and researching discrepancies.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to recognize trends, inconsistencies, and relationships within data.
• General understanding of business software, technology, and information systems .
• Previous IT, software, database, or systems experience is a plus.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities while maintaining accuracy.
• Background in accounting, finance, business, information systems, data analytics, or a related field is helpful.
• Equivalent hands-on data analysis and reporting experience will also be considered.
