Step into Precision: A Day in This Role

Picture stepping onto the shop floor, reviewing a new print, and deciding the smartest way to turn raw stock into a flawless part. You’ll load tools, program and set up a CNC lathe, verify offsets, and run first-article checks. With micrometers and bore gages in hand, you’ll prove out the process, hold tight tolerances, and document every critical step—delivering repeatable results shift after shift. When needed, you’ll jump onto a manual lathe to finesse a detail or speed up throughput. Collaboration comes naturally here: you’ll share data, improve cycle times, and keep safety and quality front and center.

What You’ll Tackle

• Program and set up CNC lathes directly from blueprints and written work instructions.
• Operate CNC and manual equipment to machine high-quality metal components to exact specs.
• Interpret drawings, GD&T, and part specifications to consistently hold tight tolerances.
• Select tooling, set speeds/feeds, and optimize processes across varied materials.
• Use precision metrology (micrometers, bore gages, etc.) for in-process and final inspection.
• Complete accurate documentation for setups, inspections, and production records.
• Contribute positively to a strong team culture—productivity, cooperation, data collection, and a can-do attitude.
• Bonus: Familiarity with Mazatrol and G-code programming environments.

What You Bring

• Machining experience: 4+ years (required).
• Proven CNC lathe programming and setup capability from prints and instructions.
• Demonstrated success holding tight tolerances across multiple materials.
• Comfort with precision measuring tools and inspection practices.
• Meticulous documentation habits and a quality-first mindset.
