Occupational Therapist

The incumbent shall be responsible for providing a full range of Occupational Therapy services including assessment, treatment planning and therapeutic interventions in an interdisciplinary environment consistent with the position's qualifications, professional practices and ethical standards. With each patient encounter, the incumbent shall use AIDET, perform hand hygiene, assists with positioning patient for comfort and pain management, and performs environment check prior to leaving patient's room and/or maintains a clean and organized environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct an Occupational Therapy evaluation or screen.
• Develop an individualized Plan of Care with functional goals.
• Provide appropriate therapeutic interventions.
• Evaluate patient response to treatment and modify plan as necessary.
• Document the course of patient care including progress made and the continuing need for treatment.
• Provide patient and/or family education to help achieve goals.
• Communicates and demonstrates a professional image for patients, families, clients, coworkers, and others.
• Adhere to policies, rules, and regulations from KHI, Arizona State Board of Occupational Therapy, and Medicare.
• Assists with orientation of new staff as requested.
• Meets KHI requirements for skills competency and safety.
• Participate in continuing education/professional development activities.
• Assists with the Occupational Therapy and Assistant student program.
• Participate in staff meetings, client relation and marketing activities.
