Technical Support Specialist

Talascend is currently seeking a Technical Support Specialist for a contract opportunity with our client in Salem, Oregon .


Overview


This role involves providing technical support to electronic products and systems, primarily in a call center environment, requiring on-site presence in Salem, Oregon. The position requires technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve customer issues efficiently.


Responsibilities

• Set up hardware and software systems, read and edit SQL scripts, and work with databases including scripts, queries, stored procedures, and QA.
• Follow and interpret wiring diagrams, including AC to DC conversion and grounding principles.
• Provide operational and technical assistance to electronic product end users, determine call resolution, log calls, generate product replacement orders, and troubleshoot technical issues.
• Offer technical support via telephone and email to end users and administrators of hospitality and commercial products and systems, ensuring courteous and professional service.
• Develop and maintain knowledge of electronic products, billing, collection processes, and database applications, applying customer satisfaction skills to resolve issues.
• Follow call-handling procedures to meet departmental goals for call volume, support, and productivity.
• Support additional projects and skillsets as needed, with attendance and punctuality being essential.
• Coordinate project scheduling, budgeting, administrative tasks, and work directly with external customers on smaller hospitality projects.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of technical support, call center, or help desk experience.
• Basic IP networking knowledge.
• PC systems knowledge (Windows 7-10).
• Basic SQL database reading and editing preferred.
• Ability to work weekends and evenings.
• Willingness to work on-site in Salem, Oregon.
• Excellent listening and communication skills.
• Detail-oriented with accurate record-keeping abilities.
• Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in setting up hardware and software systems, SQL scripting, and working with databases.
• Experience with wiring diagrams and grounding principles.
• Bachelor's degree in a related field with 2-4 years of experience in a similar role.

The hours of operation are from 5AM to 7PM, seven days a week, with potential for overtime. Flexibility with early mornings and weekends is required. This position is on-site in a call center environment and requires regular attendance and punctuality.
