RN I - Medical Comprehensive Care Unit (Open) Employment Status: Full time. Shift: Day. Facility: 1906 Belleview Ave SE – Roanoke. About the Unit The Enhanced Monitoring Unit is a 27‑bed specialty step‑down environment focused on gastrointestinal (GI) and pulmonary care. Patients require comprehensive monitoring and interventions that bridge the gap between intensive care and acute medical‑surgical nursing. Key Responsibilities Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care for patients of all ages. Administer treatments and medications accurately and document using EPIC. Provide patient and family educational needs in a timely manner. Collaborate with the health‑care team and interdisciplinary plan of care. Participate in performance‑improvement activities and quality‑patient‑care services. Manage resources, prioritize tasks, and modify environment to meet patient‑care needs. Provide orientation and feedback to new staff; participate in unit and hospital activities. Required Qualifications Graduate of a professional nursing school or eligible to sit for the VA licensure exam. Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in Virginia or eligible to obtain Virginia RN licensure. AHA BLS‑HCP required; may need BLS, ACLS, PALS, or NRP based on the unit.
