Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Nights | 3x12-hour shifts (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM) | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on an adult acute care unit serving patients with conditions including elective back surgeries, trauma, prostate cancer, gallbladder conditions, and cellulitis
• Utilize Rapid Response and Code team protocols as needed
• Perform and manage peripheral line care, nasal cannula, non-invasive airway management, oxygen administration, and isolation precautions
• Float within skillset to other units as required
• May be required to serve in a charge nurse role or precept other staff
• Work one holiday per 13-week contract period; two holidays required during winter holiday scheduling blocks

Required Qualifications

• Active Virginia State RN license or active Compact RN license required at time of submission (pending license accepted only if candidate holds a single-state license from a non-compact state)
• Current BLS certification
• Proficiency in Medical/Surgical nursing care
• Experience with EPIC electronic health records system
• Ability to work weekend shifts (every other weekend or 6 weekend shifts per 6-week scheduling block)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior travel nursing experience preferred; first-time travelers will be considered
• Experience functioning as a charge nurse or preceptor in a Med/Surg setting
• Familiarity with 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio environments in acute care settings
