Description Of Work

This position focuses on building awareness, strengthening partnerships, and improving reintegration services for veterans across the Commonwealth. The work supports major outreach efforts, grant initiatives, and collaborative programs that help veterans transition successfully. As an Administrative Officer 2, you will perform the following duties:

  • Outreach Leadership: Plan major campaigns that build and expand public understanding of veteran reintegration needs
  • Partnership Coordination: Build relationships with agencies and organizations to support shared program goals
  • Service Alignment: Identify needed reintegration services and connect veterans with partner providers
  • Program Evaluation: Develop methods to measure program effectiveness and analyze outcomes
  • Grant Development: Prepare grant packages and guide partners on meeting grant requirements
  • Policy Guidance: Lead improvements to program policies to align with legal and organizational standards

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:15 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 45-minute lunch.
  • The current headquarter location for this position is the Lickdale Outreach Center, 40 Fisher Avenue, Jonestown, PA, 17038. However, a different headquarter location may be determined based on the selected candidate from one of the following veterans' homes:
    • Delaware Valley Veterans' Home: 2701 Southampton Rd., Philadelphia, PA, 19154
    • Gino J. Merli Veterans' Center: 401 Penn Ave., Scranton, PA, 18503
    • Hollidaysburg Veterans' Home: 500 Municipal Dr., Hollidaysburg, PA, 16648
    • PA Soldiers' and Sailors' Home: 560 East Third Street, Erie, PA, 16507
    • Southeastern Veterans' Center: One Veterans Dr., Spring City, PA, 19475
    • Southwestern Veterans' Center: 7060 Highland Dr., Pittsburgh, PA, 15206
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, 5 out of every 10 days. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.

Required Experience, Training & Eligibility

Qualifications

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as an Administrative Officer 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Three years of experience in progressively responsible and varied office management or staff work, including experience in personnel management, budgeting, or procurement; and a bachelor's degree; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Additional Requirements:

  • You must possess a valid federal or state-issued photo ID and pass a favorable NCIC screening for admittance to Fort Indiantown Gap.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Preferred Qualifications (not required):

  • Experience building public awareness relationships to promote a strategic campaign
