Overland Park law firm is looking for a full time experienced legal assistant to join our busy team. Candidates must be detail-oriented, a self-starter, have good communication skills, and have excellent organizational skills. The legal assistant needs to be able to work independently as well as within a team environment. The legal assistant interfaces with clients, opposing counsel, witnesses, experts, and others. We offer a collegial environment and business casual attire in our office. Work hours are Monday through Friday and this is a full time, non-exempt position. Duties include but are not limited to:
· Legal document preparation including formatting and proofreading (from dictation or existing forms)
· Filing documents with the various court jurisdictions, State and Federal
· Maintain attorney calendars
· Schedule and track court deadlines
· Manage travel arrangements for attorneys and their expense reimbursements
· Scheduling of client meetings, depositions, and court dates Requirements:
· A minimum experience of two to three years in a legal assistant/legal secretary role
· Experience in the area of insurance defense is helpful
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point) Our firm offers competitive compensation and benefits package that includes the following:
