Patient Care Technician

PCT IUnder the direction of the Registered Nurse, the PCT I at Franciscan performs delegated patient care activities in a manner that is aligned with the age-specific and beneficial needs of the patient. Franciscan Health takes pride in hiring coworkers who provide compassionate, comprehensive care for our patients and the communities we serve.What You Can Expect:Perform activities of daily living (ADLs): bathing, oral care, grooming (shaving), urinary catheter and ostomy care; assist with meals and feeding; assist with positioning, ambulation, and mobilization; assist with elimination and toileting.Screening/Collection/Recording data & information: vital signs, intake & output, weights, specimen collection.Restock patient room and unit supplies, perform equipment checks.Transport patients by wheelchair, cart, bed, bassinet.Answer patient call-lights, telephones, Vocera.Qualifications:Preferred High School Diploma/GEDNursing student after having completed 1st semester of clinicals RequiredCertified Nurse Assistant (CNA) RequiredPrior PCT experience in another acute care health care organization RequiredAfter completion of Franciscan PCT In-training program RequiredBasic Life Support Program (BLS) - American Heart Association Franciscan will provide BLS training and recertification as needed.Travel is required: Never or RarelyEqual Opportunity EmployerIt is the policy of Franciscan Alliance to provide equal employment to its employees and qualified applicants for employment as otherwise required by an applicable local, state or Federal law.
