About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical Oncology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night 3x12-Hour; Day 3x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years of acute care experience required; teaching hospital experience preferred for first-time travelers License: Current RN license (CO or Compact) Certifications: AHA BLS required Must-Have: - Oncology skills checklist required - Teaching hospital experience required Description: Oncology skills checklist is required. Ten RTO days maximum are approved. RTO is not allowed during specific time periods: - June 28 - July 9, 2026 - September 2 - September 12, 2026 - October 25 - November 4, 2026 Candidates must be comfortable with flexible staffing ratios. Travelers will float within scope to meet facility needs. Staff consists of care providers to patients recovering post-operatively from surgical interventions related to cancer. Nursing care aims to achieve specific post-operative milestones for discharge. Chemotherapy or biotherapy is not administered on this unit, thus certification is unnecessary. Responsibilities include managing ports and administration of various treatments. Nurses may care for patients with diverse cancer diagnoses, including gynecologic, colorectal, pancreatic, liver, and stomach cancers. The unit provides interdisciplinary support services to enhance patient care. Completion of facility-specific modules is required within the first week of the assignment. Travelers should ensure they are eligible based on previous employment history. Availability for weekend shifts is necessary according to unit needs.
