Job Summary The Center for Children and Families (CCF) at Florida International University announces summer positions for PreK‑12 regular and special education teachers, with a preference on Bachelor’s or higher level individuals in Education/Special Education, Psychology/Mental Health, or related field, with field experience working with children in school, after‑school, or summer settings for the 2026 Summer Reading Explorers program funded by The Children’s Trust. The CCF is FIU’s premiere research, service, and training facility for child and adolescent mental and behavioral health. The Summer Reading Explorers Program provides evidence‑based small‑group literacy instruction to rising kindergarten, first grade, and second grade students throughout Miami‑Dade County. Assessment Specialists will be individuals with at least 1 year of graduate level (Master’s or Doctoral) supervised assessment experience and field experience working with children in school, after‑school, summer settings and children with disabilities. Specialists must have working knowledge of data entry and generation of Excel spreadsheet reports. Specialists with assessment experience in reading and other standardized tests (e.g., Peabody Picture Vocabulary Test) are strongly preferred. Responsibilities Assessment Specialists will be responsible for implementing assessment and data entry and reporting protocol for services. Responsibilities include coordinating and completing assessments with the team; entering data into REDCap; generating score reports for site providers and supervisors using Excel; coordinating parent notification of assessment results. Employment will begin tentatively June 10th, 2026, and end in conjunction with the MDCPS calendar. Assessment Specialists will work a minimum of 8 hours per day, Monday through Friday, and are compensated with a summer salary of $8,000 (required; some compensation for travel available). Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma and 1 year of experience in subject areas or equivalent combination of education/experience. Desired Qualifications Bachelor’s or higher level individuals in Education/Special Education, Psychology/Mental Health, or related field, with field experience working with children in school, after‑school, or summer settings.
